Mission:
Interim 3: Subspace Drift
Location: Kally's Office
Timeline: After Astral Plane Battle
Kally walked into her office, her eyes half closed and her shoulders slumped. She couldn't remember when she'd been that tired, but she was pretty sure if she had been, it was from doing something far more fun than she'd been through recently. She walked over to her couch and pressed a button on the side, letting it slide down into a bed. She sat down on the edge and took her boots off, tossing them aside, then awkwardly pulled off her uniform top. "Computer," she said weakly, "begin personal log. Attach current stardate."
"Acknowledged," the computer said.
Kally took a deep breath and laid back, kicking off her uniform pants before curling up on the bed, resting her head on a pillow. "I'm not sure where to begin, but today definitely ranks as the weirdest what-in-the-f*ck day I've ever had. I'm not even sure it still is 'today', it could be tomorrow by now, but I'm too tired to care." She took a moment to gather her thoughts. "We almost lost crew today. I saw terrorists shoot a man, and it was no easier the second time, but I kept telling myself our crew survived, and I'm supposed to take comfort in that. Jenna was shot, Raven and T'Vel were injured, and Jadizon..." She paused and wiped a tear. "I'm still trying to find the words to describe what happened, but I remember almost losing him, almost losing Cally, almost losing Katie." She choked up a bit and took a few breaths to compose herself. "Note for later to write commendations for Crewman Tessa di'Orion, Ensign Henry Taylor, Crewman Erika Yang and Petty Officer Peter Kozlowski."
She rubbed her eyes. "T'Vel's hearing has been restored, and her concussion repaired. Raven's injuries were more serious, but we got to them in time, and she is sleeping soundly. Tessa was indispensable today, I really don't know what I'd have done without her." She yawned loudly, then quickly directed the computer to erase that. "We're stuck here for a few more days while Cally attempts to reopen negotiations. I'm not sure what good that will do, but that's why I'm not a diplomat." She stretched and sighed again. "I'm going to get a nap and then get everyone transferred to the surface and ensure we're shut down, then I'm going to drag Cally to bed and not let her go for a week."
The computer waited patiently for the log to finish, but the only sound was deep breathing. After five minutes of silence, it automatically ended the log and closed the channel.
