Mission:
Die Hard: Chimera Edition (main)
Location: Captain's readyroom
Timeline: after Captain's Log: Aftermath Of Orgrann
Mark arrived at the door to the door to the captain's readyroom and pressed the door chime. He felt a bit wiped out. There had been an official round of negotiating with the newly organized Organn government and the remaining environmentalists (who seemed a lot more willing to actually sit down and talk things out once their leader, Salven, and a lot of his main extremist supporters were now out of the picture). It had also helped that Tessa had come along and actually made sure both sides had actually gotten equal time to express their concerns and to hear out the other side's position. (Mark almost had to wonder if his own presence during the initial talks had anything to do with it because he'd been the one to deal with Salven - the government had almost seemed grateful while the environmental group was almost...maybe not afraid of him, but almost weary of him.)
When he got the bid to enter, he came into the readyroom. The captain was behind her desk. "You wanted to see me, Captain?" Mark said.
“I did indeed Mark, come in, come in!” Cally came to her feet to reveal that behind the desk she was wearing an evening gown that was vaguely reminiscent of a command uniform, with the black dress that reached to just below her calves starting to introduce the red gradient at mid-belly and convert to the scarlet of command completely just above her cleavage-baring chest. It was clear she wasn’t wearing a bra as she turned to expose the nearly backless gown, a single half-inch wide strap around her neck being the only thing holding it up.
As she spun back towards Mark and stepped around the desk, the glitter of the four pops on the front of the strap reflected in the lights and three inch heels she wore (to match his height) showed her toes while the hip-height slit in the dress showed bare leg with a garter halfway up her thigh, “I know we didn’t really get a chance to talk over the last couple days and I wanted you to know that I really appreciated you taking care of the rest of preliminaries of the negotiations with Tessa.” She grinned at him, the diamond studs in her ears angled perfectly to glitter.
This was a game she played with him at times, since he was the one who always seemed to slip through her fingers. Rarely did she dress to the nines for him, though, usually it was just flirtation, flashing him ‘accidentally’, always the offer, though and she smiled over at him.
"I do what I can," Mark said, trying not to roll his eyes. The captain was up to her usual flirtatious methods...again. She certainly got "brownie points" for trying, though. "I'm giving a lot of credit to Tessa. She came up with some ideas that both sides actually seemed to want to listen to. But I must admit that I've wondered a bit if the environmentalists were afraid that I was going to shoot them or something like that if they didn't agree to work things out, especially after the news got out about what happened to Salven and a lot of his followers."
"And if they thought that, so much the better." Cally said, her smile turning cruel for just a moment before returning into its "brightness, “That makes it sound like Tessa was the moderating voice rather than you?”
"For some of it, she was," Mark said. "Actually surprised me a bit. She might have a future as a Federation diplomat if this whole baroness thing doesn't work out."
Calypso leaned back on her desk, risking putting a wrinkle in the dress, but also giving him a better look at her own form and emphasizing her chest just that much more, “Still, whatever works! Sometimes we have to throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks! But, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to see you. I know that the signups for shore leave have been up and I haven’t seen your name on there at all as of yet. What did you have planned for while the ship is in the hands of the shipyard?”
"I haven't given it too much thought yet," Mark said. "There's really not much for me and the boys as far as visiting family goes. Me, them, and their dad are really the only Valleroys around outside of some very distant cousins around...somewhere, and my sister-in-law's family is pretty much all in prison, so no one to visit there either. Not too sure if there's much around that's kid-friendly on a large scale, so I'm thinking I'd hang around here mostly and see if the starbase crew needs any help, with a few day trips for recreational activities thrown in."
"And, of course, you'll have your run of the holodecks." Cally grinned widely, "Especially Holodeck One, since I won't be here to be needing it." She stood up again and sauntered over towards him, "But of more importance is the fact that we're going to be turning the ship over to the yard itself, there's a Commander who will be technically taking command of the ship complete with command codes, but if you're staying here, you're going to be our highest ranking officer remaining here. You've got Lieutenant Jeffries by date of rank and besides, as my Second Officer, you do have the authority."
"We'll try not to do anything you wouldn't do," Mark said. "Hopefully by the time you get back, you'll have a ship that's worked better than it has in a long time, and I won't have any reports for you of us having to engage in shoot-outs with the locals." He thought for a moment. "Anything else, or does that cover it?"
"So, you're going to convert the Ready Room into a pillow pit for a ship-wide orgy?" Cally laughed, "I think you mean you'll try not to do anything I would do, don't you?" She smirked at him, "But... There IS one more thing." She reached inside the dress and pulled her hand out of her top, holding something small between her fingers and reached over towards his collar to affix something to it, "Congratulations, Lieutenant Commander Valleroy." She kissed him once on both cheeks before giving him a kiss on his lips, trying to deepen it as she let her arms go around his neck.
Mark was taken back a bit, but then grabbed Cally and dipped her down for a moment before returning the two of them to their upright position, while gently making sure the kiss ended. "There," he said, "now that we've got that out of the way, thank you for the promotion. I shall try not to let you down." Mark had always kind of wondered one thing about Betazoids and the extent of their telepathic abilities, and he quickly produced what he thought was a pretty good image in his mind of himself blowing a raspberry at her and 'projected' it in her direction, just to see if it would produce any sort of reaction.
Cally giggled as she caught the projected image and took a half-step back before it became a fully fledged laugh, "You know, I'll get you one of these days, Mark, and when I do it'll blow your socks off!" She shook her head slowly in wonderment, "But just keep the ship in one piece, or at least as few pieces as is needed for them to get the job done, and I'll consider it all a good deal!"
"I'll try not to do too much damage around here, though of of course I can't make the same guarantee about what Corey and Connor might do," he said with a wink at the end. "And as for you getting me one of these days,as an old saying goes, that'll be the day!"
