Mission: Chimera and Deep Space 16
Location: USS Chimera, Sickbay
Timeline: (About an hour after he met the CO & XO)

After he had left the Captain's ready room, he found that his things had been taken to his cabin. Making his way down, he stepped inside his new home. Looking around the spacious cabin, he knew that he had all the room only because he was a department head.

Following the Captain's orders, he changed out of his uniform into comfortable clothes. In this case, dark blue jeans, brown leather cowboy boots, a brown belt to match, with one of his many rodeo championship belt buckles, a white cotton button us shirt, top two buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up his well-built forearms. Then, to finish it off, his black stetson.

He finally left his cabin and started walking the ship. Finally, he came upon the ship's sickbay, and he stepped inside. "Hello?" He called out as he glanced around the empty compartment.

Kally had cleared most of her to do list and her schedule was finally freeing up. She'd debated about surprising Cally with a midday pounce, but the voice in the main room got her attention. She came out of her office and her eyes went wide. "Hello" she said, grinning. "Right this way." She gestured into her office, standing in the doorway.

Edward gave the pretty Lieutenant a soft smile, as he stepped into the office. "Hello, Lieutenant Edward Barnes, the ship's new Strategic Operations Chief. I'm here for my incoming physical. And you are?"

"Doctor Kally Kellerman, Chief Medical Officer and I would be more than pleased to have your physical incoming," she said, grinning. She gestured to the couch along her back wall and grabbed a tricorder from her desk. "Make yourself comfortable," she said.

Nodding slightly, Edward did as instructed and sat down on the plush couch, wondering briefly why the CMO hadn't had him go sit on a bio bed. He then thought that perhaps she just wanted to talk to him in an informal matter, to relax him, before they got to the physical itself.

Kally sat down next to him, flipping open her tricorder and scanning him as her nostrils twitched. She looked up and gave him a knowing smile. "So, you've met the Captain," she said.

He nodded as he replied. "I just came from her ready room, after reporting in to both her and the XO." He blushed slightly as he said, "She was a bit more...relaxed, than I'm used to."

"Good, I keep telling her to relax," Kally said. She gave him a saucy grin and leaned in. "And how about you? Were you sufficiently relaxed?"

Arching an eyebrow, he looked over at her as he responded. "I..um...did not take her up on her offer, Doc." He suddenly wondered if the Chimera was crewed by sex-starved crew.

Kally pouted, checking her tricorder before looking back at him. "Well that's a pity for both of you. Why not?"

Her question surprised him briefly, but he quickly regained his composure ans said, "Well, as I told the Captain, I'm old fashioned and not that much into casual sex. I'm very monogamous in that area."

"Well, now you've disappointed both of us," Kally teased, smiling at him. "If you ever change your mind though, or want to work up to a certain point..." She brushed her lips against his teasingly. "For what it's worth," she said as she sat back, "you aren't the only one on this ship who is like that, although you are in the minority. Just be prepared to fend off a few flirty females in the coming days until we get the word out." She winked and finished her scan, then closed her tricorder. "The good news is, you're in good health."

When she leaned in and lightly kissed his lips, Edward could not stop the reaction he had, as his pants became rather tight suddenly. "I...uh...ahem...I'll take that under advisement."

Kally grinned. "That's all I ask," she said. "I hate to think of a member of the crew suffering needlessly." She winked at him again and patted his thigh. "Anything else I can do for you, Edward?"

His cheeks flushed as he felt her warm hand on his thigh. "I..um...I can't really stand up right now," he felt embarrassed by his admission.

"Well I won't ask you for more than you're capable of," she said. "But if you need some time alone to recover, I can leave you be. If you'd rather I stay and keep you company, I can do that too." She gave him a sweet smile and a shrug.

He was silent for a moment, then he answered. "Y-you can stay." He blushed again, as he admitted. "I know this might be hard to believe...looking at me, that is...but I've only ever been with one other woman, years ago, and it did not end well."

"Well, you're right, I do find that hard to believe," she said, "but not impossible. I have a couple of friends who were in similar situations. One met his soulmate, the other is still dancing around hers. I went the opposite route. I loved openly and freely, and I still met someone wonderful. So don't fear; you will have opportunities." She smiled genuinely at him and patted his hand.

He smiled in reply. "Thank you....for understanding." He took in a deep breath, then stood, though he did still have a rather notable bulge in his pants, which was near Her eye level. "And thank you for listening, Doc."

"Oh, any time," Kally said, obvious appreciation in her eyes. She stood up and kissed his cheek sweetly. "My door is always open, day or night," she said, grinning. "No matter what you may need."

He blushed again when she kissed his cheek. "Thank you." Then he remembered. "Oh! Here's my medical file, showing all the injuries and medical treatments Ive had since joining Starfleet. It even has a copy of my civilian medical file from growing up on my family's ranch, and my years in rodeo." He pulled the data rod from his left breast pocket and handed it over to Kally.

She took the data rod and nodded, smiling. "I'll be sure to read through it and update your file. Good meeting you, Edward."

He gave her a warm smile and nodded. "Same to you, Kally. I hope we can be friends." He gave her another handsome, lip-sided grin that seemed completely effortless, as he added, "Have a good day." He then strode out of her office and out of sickbay. His next stop the counseling department for his initial session, as was required by his transfer orders
